Blue Screen and Restart

while i was doing my stuffs on the computer, a blue screen appeared (not on desktop, no icons no taskbar nothing!) and my computer restarted.. when it is reaching the "Windows XP Pro" Logo, the computer tell me to press R because one of my files is damaged.. so wats the problem and wat cause my file to be damage?

hhmmm ok mate just insert your xp disc or your O/S disk and restart. then goto command prompt and type sfc/scannow this is windows file protection and will scan your computer for damaged system files and give you the option to replace any damaged files now run along and give it a try ian mc
