I cannot get an authentic Internet explorer icon on my desktop--only shortcuts. I would like the original one so I can right click on it and get to my internet properties. Every time I copy and paste--I get shortcuts--display desktop advanced properties and check show internet explorer-shortcut. any suggestions?

Right click a blank area of the desktop,
click Properties, click the Desktop tab,
& select "Customize Desktop".

You can choose which items to show on the
desktop here, place a checkmark in Internet
Explorer.

Or go to IE Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and then place a check next to "Show Internet Explorer on the Desktop".

It is the last item in the Browsing section.

Click Apply and Ok.
