how do i block a certain website?because my brother always go to a porn site. I block them once by using this command to block the site (notepad C:/Windows/System32/drivers/etc/hosts ) is there any alternative way to to block the site?

If you've blocked it with a hosts file, it should stay blocked (though there are so many, you'd never catch all of them). I'd put a BIOS password on to keep him off your machine...

Only other thing I can think of is some sort of filtering software (aka NetNanny, CyberPatrol) and the usefulness of them is somewhat hit-or-miss.

Otherwise look for a machine for yourself or him; don't let him mess up your machine. There's plenty of deals available...

If its just particular websites it is often necessary to block them in Hosts with and without "www" (two entries). Like this:

127.0.0.1 somewebsite.com
127.0.0.1 www.somewebsite.com

Otherwise you need filtering software, as already suggested.
