Hi. This may have been asked before. Since installing windows xp, I noticed that the hard drive blinks. Not so much trying to access the hard drive, because its only for a split second, like a heart beat, and i dont notice it slowing down performance, just something i was curious. I heard it may have had something to do with the hard drive tying to access the cd-rom? thanks

xp will add any new files to a search data base so that the search feature will work faster, xp does this on it own in the background when the computer is idle.
it you add a bunch of new files you will find it busy working at this when your computer is idle.
