Please help.......

I have just formatted my PC, and installed Windows XP Professional .......then everytime I connected to the 'net, a window came up saying it was shutting me down, I did the housecall virus scan, it said it had cleaned the virus I had, then I found out I had another virus which I deleted using housecall

So I thought I had no viruses!

Within a couple of minutes it was back again shutting me down - I've instaled AVG - That detected it, and also cleaned it, now its' come back again, their names were "mslaugh.exe" "msblast" and various other names, it hasn't come back as yet, tho' its only been a few minutes, if anyone knows how I can stop it coming back plz let me know!!!!!

Your help much appreciated

:S

Go to this site:
http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

and download Stinger - run it - then shut down System Restore and run it again. It will remove MsBlast worm. Then go to this site:
http://www.grc.com/ and click on Shields Up-download and install DCOMbobulator and run it. It will block the MsBlast worm. Then make sure you download and install all your Ms Windows Updates.

If you download and install dcombobulator (as suggested above in post #2) this will block the port that the Msblast virus uses to invade your computer. It also disables the Service in WinXp that Msblast uses. Thus, even though it is a good idea to install MS Updates, this will serve as a work around. Also, using a firewall will help protect your computer. A good free one can be gotten from Sygate.

Soz ...I am not that great with PC's ...I'm female afterall

This prog I've installed says

"DCOM is Available AND Vulnerable!

Several well known DCOM exploits
ARE effective on this system.

This system has apparently NOT been patched against ANY of the well known DCOM exploits"

Is this prog protecting me now, or do I have to do something else???
