Blank Hotmail Screen

December 2, 2009 at 05:58:59
Specs: Windows XP

When I try to get into hotmail, the tab on the top says Sign In, in the lower left it says Done, but the part of the screen that should have my login is blank - just a white screen. I also cannot get into Comcast email. There are also part of other websites that do not come fully up - eg: where a picture should come up it might say "Internet Explorer can not display...." l tried unistalling IE8, reinstalling IE8, resetting the settings, etc. Firefox works fine.

I'd use Firefox.

I agree, but it's not my computer. He is actually considering a factory reinstall to get his internet explorer working. I would just like to know if there is a fix because it is driving me crazy. It has to be a graphic type issue. I can go into gmail and it says something about being in HTML mode.

A system reinstall is always the best option in the long run, however if you wanna give it a shot and try to fix the problem first try to uninstall / reinstall IE. And while you're at it, see if older versions of IE does the same thing.

lol... speaking of the devil, my IE8 just crashed on me after posting the last message - twice. If I didn't know any better I'd think it read the bad name I was calling it and got grumpy :)

When I was working on the blank screen problem I uninstalled IE8 so it went back to IE7 - no difference. So I reinstalled IE8 - no difference. It has to be something that is not loaded or running correctly, for example flash player or something along those lines.
