After logging on to the user, the desktop appears to be blank. no icons, and no taskbar. however, i'm able to call up the task manager. after scanning thru the list of running processes, i dun see any suspicious process running. no new hardware and software was installed. This only happen to one user. I created a new user, the new user's desktop is perfectly fine. Although this sorta solve the problem, i would like to know wat's really happening and any remedy if the same problem appear again.

This isn't a remedy, but it will get your desktop back. At the "blank" screen, bring up Task Manager. Click the Applications tab on top, and then click the New Task button on bottom. In the window that opens, type explorer and press enter. That will at least give you the desktop so you can continue.
