Specs: Windows XP
I have Windows XP Professional. I just
installed Internet Explorer 8 into my PC and
upon rebooting, all I get is a black screen.
monitor, keyboard and mouse are lit, but no
response. I have tried unplugging computer,
modem, but no success. I have hit F11, F2,
F12, F8....no response. Does anyone have
suggestions?????

Sounds like your video card driver decided to take a hike upon learning that IE8 is a meance in your case. The only way to fix it is boot to safe mode then use system restore to the day before you installed IE8. Getting into safe mode is tricky - keep tapping F8 key once the BIOS screen appear.

You are not alone in this. As mentioned above go into safe mode and reinstall the video driver. Ie 8 seems to come with a weird bug.....1 in 100 machines freak.

I also saw restore was mentioned. I now set up a restore point before installing ie8...just in case.
