What is the current bios level for an 01/19/2000-i44bx-w83977-2a69ktgbc-00 on a trm-p6bx-an motherboard? i would like to upgrade o/s from win98 to xp pro.

Try here for what you are asking

If your system is working using 98 with no problems, it will probably work just fine using your current bios. Trying to get by with just 128 of RAM will be a much bigger issue for you than your current bios.

i run win xp on my mom's comp wit only 32 megs of ram it runs fine...128 willbe no probelem...Never lison to the side of the box
Duct Tape is like the Force, It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the world together!

I agree with capt - it's doubtful that a new BIOS is needed to upgrade to XP. More memory would certainly be nice, though (worth the expense, if you ask me).

What? I've tried running it with double that, and it was horrendously slow, and that was merely the booting process. I can't fathom it running "fine" with only 32 megs of RAM.
I also would like to know what "lison" is. Were you going for "listen"? He's got bigger problems than lack of memory if the side of a box starts talking to him.
Good luck.

YES... YOU MAY NEED A BIOS UPDATE...
I had an IBM laptop came with win98. Went to XP and had nothing but trouble until the BIOS was upgraded.
XP uses completely different memory areas from win98...some of which may conflict with the memory areas that your old bios uses, as in my case.

Impossible... I thought the XP setup wouldn't install on less than 64mb of ram? If it has less than 64mb, XP setup would automatically stop and say that it doesn't have enough ram?

Listen to the experts above. You don't have enough ram, period. You must be counting someting else as ram, or miscounting, or not reading correctly.
