This machine is acting weird! I have re-partitioned it and reformatted (FAT32) it. It will accept an XP or 98SE load but it will not recognize the video card - says it can't find a free I/O port and is in conflict with an ACPI device whose resources I can't modify. Additionally, it will not allow me to load my Killdisk S/W which I use to wipe the HD. I even did a BIOS update but it didn't fix the video card problem. My last desperate act is to reset the BIOS but the motherboard does not have a reset jumper. My question is: how do I reset the BIOS on this MOBO (E210882)?

Unplug the power (which you've hopefully done already) & remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard - leave it for 5 minutes & when you replace it the BIOS should be set to defaults. You should also have an option within the BIOS settings to set to default as well.

You likely need to to download and install the chipset drivers.

You should be able to find them on the Dell site.

Is your video card an actual "card" or is it integrated graphics?

I have tried VGA, PCI and on-board video. In all cases the resource manager says the card can't find an open port. Also, this motherboard does not have a re-set option in BIOS. I will try the chipset install. Thanx
