Go into the BIOS, under security. set password.
But do not forget it.

If you think you are going to forget it.
Don't set it.

On a desktop yes. Remove battery or change the jumper
On a laptop....you better be the real regged owner or know how to take it apart and where the eprom is

The password can be bypassed on a Compaq Proline A 5133 by moving a jumper. on the board. The exact location can be found in the manual for the device. I downloaded the PDF file.
