It is likely you cannot clear the bios password in a laptop. You will probably have to send the unit to an authorised Toshiba technician to have it unlocked. This is an anti-theft feature of many laptops and short of replacing the motherboard there is no way to bypass such a bios pwd. Last person who posted on this forum about a toshiba laptop bios password said it was going to cost him $90 plus shipping to unlock the "cheap" PC he had purchased.
I could be wrong but I believe the unlocking process involves a key'd sequence that generates a unique "unlock" code that Toshiba needs in order to generate the required "response" code. Problem is Toshiba will only give the code to one of their authorised dealers.I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another so please feel free to ingore this.

What Richard59 posted is correct most of the time. The only exceptions I know of are with Dell Laptops. They give you a code number when trying to access a password protected BIOS, and you can call Dell and give them this code as well as proof of purchase, like an auction receipt and they will give you the unlock code. They will also try to sell you an extended warranty first, they are Dell after all! :)
We have many Government auctions in my area and all the laptops from them are password protected, and so far, the Dells have been the easiest to deal with.

Contact Toshiba Support using the 1-800 number on the bottom of the machine.
Quite often you'll get a Human response. Things may have changed, but they've always been helpful.
BTW, what Model # do you have?
There is nothing to learn from someone who already agrees with you.

Have you not got manual of BIOS with your laptop? You should follow that or you can search google for your model bios manual.
