I know there are several post on this problem already, but there doesn't seem to be a defining answer...or is there...?
I just bought a new motherboard (Gigabyte 6VTXE) and when I reboot during the installation of XP Pro, I get a blue screen with a message similar to this:
The BIOS in this system is not fully ACPI compliant......etc...etc...
I have updated my BIOS to the latest version (January 2003) and I have tried the F7, F5 tricks....
But I still can't get passed the blue screen...
I am going crazy over here....Can someone give me any detailed and specific ideas or solutions. ( and not any suggestions to change operating systems lease)Thanks
Scott

Have you checked your BIOS settings to make sure that the ACPI stuff is enabled? This varies from board to board so you'll have to read your manual. Also, make sure you have a power supply that supports enough juice for the board (most newer ones do, but you said you bought a board, so I thought I'd mention it). Windows can't get to the APCI stuff if you've turned it off...
