If its new you should take it back to the manufacturer or place of purchase you should have a 1 year warrenty.

There may be a problem with the Motherboard BOIS battery. It lookes liek a overgrown whatch batter somewhere on the motherboard. If i were you i would not check, beacause opening the case may Void your warrenty.

check to see, if you can find a 3 prong jumper that says Clear Cmos, if there is no jumper it will not keep bios Info, usally, with HPs you must move something depending if it has a riser board.. if not. then look at the Mobo, it usally has the info on it..
usally 1,2 position means that power is available to the cmos, and 2,3 means clear..

this is a good thing to know if someone wants to play a cruel JOKE and put a System PASSWORD that not even a Boot disk will get passed.. or if you forgot your System Password that you can input throught BIOS options...

Plus, ntldr - NT LOADER
is a common MBR, PROBLEM- your best bet is to Reinstall, using a clean install and not Repairing.. repairing is nice.. but keeps all the other junk in you computer that you previously installed but with out dll's and other ext's that are needed so they pretty much useless.. I allways repair. but only so i can install my Burner proggy and Save my Information that i need then just go ahead and DO A CLEAN INSTALL which means start from the ground up.. HP software allows this.. just read the instructions carefully, it will pretty much do everything for you.. since the software is bundled.. sorry i like to babble..
