Ok, so my laptop crashed the other day, and when I turned it back on it said it had recovered from a serious error and sent a error log. When I opened my browser I was redirected to a microsoft site that said it couldn't determine the cause of the problem, but it did tell me this:
During the crash analysis, we noticed the basic input/output (BIOS) system version on this computer does not match the specifications for the central processing unit (CPU), also known as a processor, that is installed on your computer. This can occur when a newer processor is installed on an older system board or older BIOS. Using a BIOS that does not support the installed processor can result in Windows system crashes. Contact your computer manufacturer or motherboard manufacturer for an updated version of BIOS for your computer's processor.
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? Or how I can find out what version I have?
Thank you in advance!
Eily

Eily sounds like you have some issues with your BIOS to me. The first thing you should look for is when you boot up the computer what version of BIOS it says on the screen. That is a great thing to try first.
If you already know that your BIOS is out of date, malfunctioning like corrupted, and you know how to flash it properly I would suggest that you do that. But if you don't know how to flash it correctly, I would send it to someone who does like a friend that really knows computer hardware and stuff that you can be in actual contact with that computer.
But, and big but, it also might be saying that the computer processor inside is not supported by the motherboard. If you have had something recently replaced like got a processor in that computer or something, I would suspect that as the cause of the problem. But if you have not, I would suspect the BIOS being the issue and suggest getting the latest BIOS for that computers motherboard to be re-flashed into that computer properly to see if it helps the issue.

Well it turns out that I have the latest BIOS version, and I remember now that I updated the BIOS recently. Could that be an issue? It was the correct version for my notebook from the packard bell website.
See, I have also been having problems with my fan, it's quite loud and constantly runs. I have gone to a few people about this, one who was extremely ignorant and rude to me, and another who said that celeron processors tend to be quite hot, and therefore need the constant cooling from the fan.
But the fans did not run constantly when I first bought my laptop, infact my laptop was extremely quiet and the fan only ran a few times when i was running numerous programs.
Do you think these problems are related?
I appreciate the replies, thank you!
Eily

Might just be dirty inside causing overheating. Take it to someone that can take it apart far enough to blow the dust out of the heat sink fins etc.

I did actually take it to someone who did just that, but the fan still runs constantly.
Any other suggestions please?
