.bin stands for Binary file, and bin files can be associated with TONNS of different programs. Go to the link below to find out more, but theres not much of a chance you'll be able to do whatever it is you have in mind.

Windows uses binary files as well. Maybe not compatible with a Mac, but binary files nevertheless.

Or it could be a bin file as in cue/bin that is an image file that was downloaded or taken from a cd and needs to be burnt on a cd. I believe cdrwin made cue/bin files popular for that a while ago. From the Winiso website. "It can process almost all CD-ROM image file(s) including ISO and BIN. With WinISO, you can add/delete/rename/extract file(s) within image files." I've seen this same post somewhere before and it turns out that there are alot of different types of bin files. The question to ask is where did you get this file from?

I agree with domass. I personally use 'alcohal 120%' to deal with the bin files. This program can create a virtual drive to run(or explore) cd images in bin format. If this is the case there is usually a .cue file with the .bin file.
