|There's no "best" resolution. You need to query the user guide of the screen, to find out what resolutions it can accept, and which not. Remember that the resolution will be mentioned WITH a refresh rate, and this is very important.|
The setup in Windows has been very similar for ages, that is the simple part. Be aware that setting wrong resolutions CAN lead to hardware failure (of the screen).
