Best Performance CDRW

OS: WinXP Pro
CPU/Ram: 1.0 Ghz, 512 MB
Comment:

The get the best performance out of a CDRW Drive what IDE do you recomend to put it on?Does it matter?

Primary IDE SLAVE?
Secondary IDE MASTER?
Secondary IDE SLAVE?

OR just put it on cable select and let it decide?

I don't think it matters in regards to preformance whether you select master or slave. You should however not connect a CD device on the same chain as your hard drive. This will cause your hard drive to opertate at UDMA 33. I suggest you place the drive as a secondary master if you can, if not the secondary slave.
