Mozilla, Mozilla Firefox, and Opera.

They kick IE's ass.
Tabbed browsing, pop-up blocking, spam filtering in the email client, Google search in the toolbar, etc. You can actually control cookies as they're attempting to load on your system, and you can block javascripts, animated gifs, etc. if you like.

They don't have their tentacles wrapped around the OS. So if something were to happen to the browser, it won't bring down the OS.

Also, I've never heard of anyone having their browser hijacked while using anything but IE.

An analogy I've used before is that IE is like the stock radio in your car. Sure it picks up all the stations, but it does no more than that, and it's usually replaced with something that sounds better and has more power and functions.

All three browsers I mentioned have more power and functions. You're probably used to that having used the Safari browser.

I totally agree with Deputy DooDah.

I use Firefox and it rocks...
Donīt forget that itīs also faster than IE because of the pipelining feature developed by Mozilla...

Long live the Network!!!

I also use and like Firefox. It is very fast, but has some drawbacks. Now and then I'll run across a site that won't display in Firefox. And D/L'ing and installing the various plug-ins sometimes ticks me off. But, I keep using it, especially on some of the slow sites, where it will really make IE look bad. Give Firefox a try; it's easy to uninstall if you don't like it.

Yeah. John is right, the biggest drawback using Firefox is absolutely the plug-ins.
Bear in mind though, that the many sites offering free downloads of various plug-ins somtimes put a little extra in there...;-) So scan them with Ad-Aware or sim.

Good luck!

Long Live The Netork!!!
