You need to go to McAfee.com and click on support and it will give you the instructions you need to remove it. If not done correctly, there will be parts of it still in the computer. As far as the best, it is up to you to get as much info as you can. Some people like McAfee, some people hate McAfee and so on and so on for all the other programs.

I used to use Norton, but then switched to Kaspersky, which found viruses that Norton couldn't!

Highly recommended, it doesn't slow the system boot like Norton does either.

AMD Athlon 1.8GHz

GeForce 4 w/ 128MB RAM
DVD/RW
ABIT 1.49 Mo/Bo
Beleive it or not, runs HL2 like a dream!

I am using Norton and it is alright with no problems and frequent updates, but i have recently been told to try ZoneAlarm so i may give it a go, you may want to look into it?

I just got off the live chat with McAfee. They helped me with my issue.

Here is their help site. On the left of the site: choose your product>choose your category>contact live technician. Now you can type realtime and get answers 24/7.

Toll Free telephone support from Mcafee in USA ---- 1-866-622-3911

I like McAfee. They always answer my questions and if I have an issue they resolve it. I've been using Mcafee for a couple years. Their 2005 Security suite is much better than last years version.

I've been using eTrust EZ Antivirus since it was launched as the free InnoculateIt several years ago.

It's small, unobtrusive, and there are frequent automatic updates (every 2-3 days on average).

It's the one Microsoft included on their free update CD just over a year ago.

I use Sygate firewall, but I could also recommend EZ Firewall, which is based on the popular ZoneAlarm framework. Several friends of mine have installed the combined package, and are very pleased with it, compared with bloatware like Norton Internet Security.

I recently uninstalled this monster from a friend's PC. She'd experienced crashes and slow response while on the 'net. The eTrust package which replaced Norton has eliminated all the trouble.

I have been a beta tester for quite a few companies testing antivirus programs for a few years now.
There isn't allot of difference between the virus catching ability of most of these programs, as they all tend to work together, but recently Kaspersky has been catching virus and trojans no other program has, for as yet unknown reasons.
Trojans on the other hand and worms are best eliminated by Nod32, Kaspersky and Bit Defender...Norton and MacAfee have never shown much abilkity with these.
But the other differences are in ease of operation, and over system drag and that is where Norton has always been a "bust" with the highest system drag, with MacAfee right behind, and the others I mentioned never even noticeable.Trend Micro again a good antivirus program as Pc Cillan, but a real system dragger.
Norton has always had another problem is it can seldom remove a virus allowing only delete or quarantine function, and you cannot have that if the virus got into the Windows System Files, that would hose a system, whereas all the others I recommend can clean most files successfully, most of the time.
However as to eTrust, it notoriously misses many virus and worms and the auto update feature seldom works for any length of time.
I have lost many systems to reformat that I had put this on for users who were stingy with the $ but no more.
