Many claim that ESET NOD32 Antivirus is the best.

Many others claim eTrust Antivirus is better than ESET and all other competitors.

I favor it myself having used it in industry for clients in the past and have been using it on my home PC (the home version) for about 3 years or so for now.

How about MSE (M$ Security Essentials)? Read our recent discussion HERE and try it.

Further, Alex Eckelberry of Sunbelt Software POSTED his thought on the new freeware from M$.

Kaspersky Internet Security.... without a doubt! Very small foot print, with
multiple updates daily. And last but not least, does NOT slow your system
down.

By the way, do not load a free anit-virus program. There is no such animal, cause in the end you will pay with troubles. Buy a good anti-virus program, and then know that you will have reasonable protection. Freebies give you limited protection.
