i'm running the same cpu and mobo with 256meg

Possibly some kind of memory problem.
The OS is trying to read something in memory that isnt there.
Do you already have a version of windows running on the system, if so are you trying to upgrade with the old windows up and running, or are you booting from the XP CD and installing stand alone.
If old windows is running a running virus checker can cause the problem. Its best to install standalone by booting the CD and creating a new partition for XP.

Also check the motherboards home page to see if there is a bios update.

For more info on this STOP error see this page on technet

But it worked before this error, I mean, I used to use Win XP.
and yes, I've Another Windows installed on my system (WinME in C Drive) and WinXP (D Drive), I guess (just guess) it happend after I installed Macromedia Generator on my WinME or perhaps Macromedia Drumbeat 2000, I can't uninstall Generator but I will Drumbeat and if it was effective I'll tell you.

Thanks for your response

This is usually caused by an error with your video card. Windows doesn't like an oversized agp appature setting. Try changing it to half the ram you have on your card (ie. 32 mg card, 16 mg appature opening).

A memory dump has nothing to do with and error in memory. IF that was the case you would get what is called an audible error as soon as you turn on the PC. When windows performs a memory dump, it records the entire contents of memory when the system stops unexpectedly. The file is stored in a folder lister under Dump File (%SystemRoot%\Memory.dmp)

I've been following this thread because I have the same sets of various error BSODs. I've got new drivers, re-installing WinXP and
tested RAM, etc and all that is suggested here.

What I finally think it bolis down to and is my solution is that the virtual memory file is corrupted (pagefile.sys). Also, for me if I set too high at 766MB as recommended, I still get the BSOD once in a while. So, what do I suggest you do ?

(1) Erase pagefile.sys by setting it to zero,
(2) After erasing, set to 256MB (min) and 512MB(Max). It works
for me; I have 512 DDR RAM.

Now, I've running 3-4 days error free.

Your choice to make !

I started having that problem about 5 weeks ago.
Biostar MB, athlon 1.2 gig, 40 gig & 20 gig hd's,
384 megs of Ram, SB live mp3, Ge force 2 mx mx 400.....
I tried lots of different drivers for my ge force 2 mx mx 400.
I noticed the only thing I did not do was flash
bios and replace my SB live drivers. I went to creative.com
updated to the xp drivers and I have not had a
stop error, bsod, or reboot in 10 days now.
3 days ago I loaded the new nvidia 28.32 drivers
with no problem.
