Batch File to Play asx in Non-Default Player?

Specs: Windows XP
VLC is my default player for video files but some files and streams work better in MPC (Media Player Classic)

I've been trying to create a batch file that will play a .asx stream in MPC but not having any luck.

I saved the .asx file as NasaTV.asx and then I created a file named NasaTV.bat and tried the following two variations.

mplayerc.exe /play /close C:\Documents and Settings\Amanda\My Documents\My Videos\NasaTV.asx

and

C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic\mplayerc.exe /play /close C:\Documents and Settings\Amanda\My Documents\My Videos\NasaTV.asx

Any thoughts?

One or the other might work if enclosed in double quotes.

If not, post the error.

I just tried adding quotes around each version but it still doesn't work. No error either, just a command window popping up and immediately disappearing. No other indication that anything is happening.

I'd bet money there *IS* an error.

You don't troubleshoot a bat by clicking on it and watching a window pop up.

Got it working. Had to use the following:

cd C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic
start mplayerc.exe "C:\Documents and Settings\Amanda\My Documents\My Videos\NasaTV.asx"
