You need to use the start command.

start notepad C:\path\to\ver.txt

Hope this helps,

Your welcome and thank you too. I really need to start working on it again but I got out of the hobby a while back.

Sandman -

Your website is cool; I took a look based on blaze's recommendation. Always wanted to get into radio, especially since I learned morse code in the army. But maybe that's not used anymore.

BUT did you design it so that the back button keeps taking you back to your site? To be perfectly honest, that's sort of annoying. Maybe you didn't do this intentionally and it has just happened. And obviously, I'll survive. LOL

Thank you for the compliment Salgolf. The site isn't designed to do that. I can see why that would be bothersome. It doesn't do it here so unfortunately it will be kind of hard for me to troubleshoot. What browser are you using? I will give it a look and see if I can fix it.

P.S. The ads didn't used to be there. I may relocate the site if I can find a free hosting service without the ads.

The ads don't bother me. I'm using IE6. As I say, I can live with it, but some sites do this intentionally and it can be quite hard to move on from them. Even going to a favorite will sometimes take you right back to their sites. Yours, fortunately, doesn't do that.

Thanks for getting back to me.

That's really odd. I wish I knew why it was doing that. I guess I will leave it as is since its not too bad. I just can't stand it when stuff I have written acts up and don't know why LOL.

I'm am running Windows Server 2003 but I ripped IE6 out of WinXpSp2 so we are probably running the same version of IE. The only thing I can think of would be some kind of ad blocking software might be causing this to happen.

You should give c.b. radio a try. It is a good hobby to get into. Here's a little advice, spend the most money on a good microphone and antenna. Even the best radio will sound like junk without them.

How would I add another line that copied or renames the ver.txt file to ver5.txt?
