I am a strong enthusiast of batch files, but
recently I have gotten a series of virus'/trojans.
One of these wiped my file extension memory,
to which I promptly put in my xp disk and
reinstalled all the system files, and I recovered
all of them. Since then whenever I create a
batch file, it merely opens a blank cmd
window. Nothing Else. I have tried naming it
with a .cmd extension and seems to work fine.
I just want to know the extent of the damage,
and whether it can be fixed or not. Thanks

Give the "Batch File Association Fix" at the link below a try.

I was registered at your forum. I have printed the test message. Do not delete, please.

I noticed that site before, but I lost the link. Didn't work however. I
got the customary .reg file popup informing me the process was
successful. I rebooted, and no difference.
