Even though nobody is posting tonight I will still ask my question......
I have 4 computers networked using a Linksys Router. My kids have their own computer that they surf the net on. From time to time I use the network to clean their temp internet files, windows temp, etc. and I also add shortcuts to websites that they like to view to their desktop, all from my laptop.
Now with that said, is there any way to run a *.exe file from my laptop on THEIR machine using the network??? Say I want to install a game for them to be able to play, can I do that from my computer?
Thanks!

Hmm...usually *.EXEcutable files run in the directory they are located in. I know some programs will work with a network installation or a server capability, but for the most part, the program will need to be accessible from the machine to be installed on. Example: 3 comps on a network, I want Quake on all three, I must install it on each machine as the software has no way(yet)
to know if a network is present.
As far as I know, this is how it works. You could try typing the share name of the client computer in and seeing if it installs there, but then, does it modify the registry files for that share, or the computer you're on? I *believe* that's why it wouldn't work, but my logic could be flawed...

There are many free program that allow you to "Remote Administer". Try the link below, it has many of these.

You could also try Remote Anywhere. This is shareware, and only allows for up to a 5 minute connection, but does allow you to run program remotely. Get it here:

How about terminal services client - the same thing that allows remote desktop? I load all kinda stuff on everything in my network by selecting the PC I want from a drop down list and clicking the .exe in the shared folder from the other PC's virtual desktop. Works like a champ!!
