There is no software that can fix a physical problem, whick a bad sector is. 1. CKDSK /r can scan your hard drive and move files into a new sector and then mark the bad sector so no more information is written to it. Actually chkdsk and other softwares really don't work at the sector level [even though chkdsk says sectors] but at a collection of sectors called clusters or allocation units. When the disk is raw it's in sectors. When you format these sectors are grouped and then they're numbered which is how the MFT tracks them. If a cluster contains a bad sector the whole cluster is marked as unusable by chkdsk and an attempt is made to move the data to a known good cluster.
