Bad Pool error

Specs: XP sp2, 1g

I have had a crash recently on this computer. And after doing some quick work in photoshop, I went to check my email online when I got the blue screen saying Bad Pool Error.

Is this the end of this thing? or just an error from working it too hard?

I also have not upgraded to SP3 yet does this have something to do with it?

Was this a one time failure or is it failing constantly?

Try memtest
http://memtest86.com/
There is a version to create a bootable floppy diskette and/or an ISO for creating a CD.
Run it overnight and any failures are unacceptable.

How was WinXP installed? Booting to an original WinXP CD? Restoring from an image?

So far it has only happened once, but it did state there was a memory issue with the Bad Pool error.

XP was installed as an upgrade from NT. I have just recieved an update to SP3 but have not installed it yet.

be sure to read all the issues concerning the SP3 update....So you can prepare yourself if it causes an issue with the update and your computer.
