Bad ITunes update

July 21, 2010 at 05:21:07
Specs: Windows XP

I opened iTunes the other night, and the program wanted to install an update. It just didn't go very well. The installation seemed to stall midway through, and I rebooted. The entire job took about 45 minutes.

Now, every time I start my computer I receive an alert saying, "AppleSyncNotifier.exe. Unable to locate component. This application has failed to start because CoreFoundation.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem."

I removed anything involving Apple or iTunes from my computer, and I re-installed iTunes, but the problem is persisting.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop. I put in a new hard drive about two years ago, and everything else works great.

Can you let me know how to solve this problem? Thanks, as always.
