Hi
I was wondering if anyone could help me, My boss is having some right problems with his Broadband
His ISP in Talk Talk and he has a Belkin wireless router. He has a desktop computer upstairs in one of the spare bedrooms and a new wireless laptop for using round the house. They both connect to the router via wireless connections.
Here is the problem
The router will only work on the internet when the desktop is turned on, so if the desktop was off you would have to turn it on in order to go on the net with the laptop (not an ideal situation)
He has an email account with Orange which is webbased and he can use and receive It from the desktop but cannot send emails the webpage just freezes. He can send and receive from the laptop.
Any Ideas??

The first sounds like he has somehow set it up to have the desktop as a ics. Like the laptop has had the wrong gateway address entered on it. I would suggest going back and examining the instructions again for the settings. Sometimes if you get one number wrong or in the wrong place these things happen.
The second on I would think that the web based email uses a java or javascript that is turned on in the laptop but not in the desktop.

I will check these things out, I will have to make sure the laptop gateway is set to the router and not he desktop.
Thanks for the reply.
