I want to make a backup of my hard drive. Should I use the backup utility included with Windows, or should I buy a separate program?

Hey, Id recommend Symantec's - Ghost.. I know the School here "NAIT" uses it for making images of there HDD's and restoring them overnight over the network.. Great Program, very easy to use.. Made by a good company.. Thats my 2 cents.. Cya!

The windows backup program is a real hassle to use for backing up a system. Drive Image or Ghost are easy and fast. Drive Image is better for a single home system. Ghost is better for backing up over a LAN.

I agree with ham30. What's more NTBackup doesn't even recognize CD media! You'd be better off with Ghost or Drive Image IMHO
