I'm not an expert so forgive what might be an obvious question.
I'm looking for software that allows me to make scheduled backups from one hard disk to another. Just something simple that starts at a predetermined time. Is there anything out there for free or shareware?

Note that XP home doesn't have M$ backup installed by default, only XP Professional (obviously M$ thinks it's too complicated for 'home' users!!). Anyway, if you have an XP Home or Pro installation disk, or can borrow one, you'll find the installation program for MSBackup in Valueadd/MSFT/NTBackup - just run it to install. It uses the usual M$ wizards to select files/backup location/scheduling etc. & I've never had a problem with it.

There is a Backup utility in Win XP, and you can set that up as a Scheduled Task. Look for both in Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools.
