i always see and hear back up your data: what dose that mean evry time i istal somthing like big it says please back up your files what dose that mean....? im just ceriouse cuz i dont know..

backup files and data.. Saving your important data. Email contact. My documents, My briefcase, favorites. Pictures. stuff like that. Backup to either a different harddrive, saving to USB flash, cdrw or dvdrw. Or even using a back program like Norton Ghost.

Summary: If your friends are all using 2000 or XP then they could use the built in ntbackup program to do the backups. Naming them according to date isn't really necessary as the backups are time/date stamped...
