Hello. I've been having some problems with my windows lately so I figured I should re-install. But before I do that I'd like to back everything up. I'm almost there but OE is giving me problems. I've found something in C:\Documents and Settings\etc...etc..\Microsoft\Outlook
There is a file called outlook.pst, but I have doubts whether this is the Inbox file or something else. It's just too small. Maybe if you stripped the emails of their attachments then maybe, but if so: then where are the attachments? I know OE downloaded them so I'm assuming they have to be somewhere on my disk.
Thanks in advance!

the outlook.pst is for the full verion of outlook that comes with office.

that is NOT oe, oe is buried deep in the system folders of your profile.

you can, (at least you should be able to, [oe has a crappy export function]), export the emails and settings and the address book from within oe it's self.

look for it using oe's help system.

Is this it? Looks about right...

Yes. You can export your Address Book, you can even export your email accounts settings, al lto file, but crappy Outlook Express can't export your email folders and messages to file. So, just copy the Identities folder, then use the import feature in the new OE to import your folders and emails.
