What Icon do your MP3s have? ie do they have a File Association?
Have you checked the File Types in the Preferences of WMP and\Winamp?
Do you have Real Player (or Quick Time)on your computer?

Decide which Player you want to use for your MP3s then look in its Prefernces or Options - somewhere it'll have a list of File Types - put a check against MP3

You could try this.Right click on one of your MP3 files. From the dropdown menu select open with. if the player you want to use is not shown on the list select choose program .Select the player that you want to use and check the block at the bottom of the page that says always use this program to open the selected file.
