I too have the same problem. Windows media player does not recognize Avseq01.dat file format.If you b@bs have recieved any support related to this can you please pass it on to me.

My OS is windows XP and CPU is 650/196

Hmmm...I'm running XP Pro and WMP 9.0 and have no problems with Avseq01.dat file format.
Have you tried right clicking the file, then selecting "open with"?
Are you sure it's not a corrupted file?

Avseq01.dat file format is from a VCD... you need a player that supports this format. Like WinDVD,PowerDVD.. etc.. Once you have this player right click the file and select the appropriate player to execute the file
