Comment:
I have cd-r's with avi files just on the disc and some with the avi files in zip files on the disc.
Is there any possible way to make these discs play on a dvd player?

Yeah sure, altho you must first convert them to MPEG1,
If you have the software Nero then it will convert them for you, when you open nero select create new VCD (VCD is a cdr with avi/mpg that works in most DVDs) If you dont have nero check your cd burner software and see if it will convert them for you, if it doesn't locate a program called "AVI2VCD" if you can't find it drop me an e-mail at swiss@snap.net.nz and I will send you it.
Keep in mind that once the AVI is converted and ready to burn no matter what size file the AVI/MPG is a VCD will only let you play 74-80 Min movies depending on your disks so you might need a program like Virtual Dub to break apart your files to you can write onto 2 cdrs for longer movies,
Also some DVD players will not read CDr disks altho most do tho.
