Hello. Recently I moved a group of .avi files from a directory C:\avis to a new folder on my desktop called "cinema". I can access the folder itself, but when I try to open the files in ANY video player, I get Access is Denied errors. I checked permissions and they are fine. Also, the files are not in use. I have tried to open them in safe mode, but access is still denied. It seems as if these files are just locked and there is no way around it! Please help, I have tried EVERYTHING I know!

If you're using Windows XP w/ an NTFS file system, evaluate the "security" settings of the folder and files. Be sure you have full control of the files, and that there are no checks in the deny column.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
