I have an Averatec 3200 laptop that has crashed after a Sp3 download. I am triny to do a repair throough the repair console but it is asking for a password, I have never had this system password protected. Is there a Bios reset and how do I get to it?

If there is no password for the Administrator, just hit Enter.

You don't have a BIOS problem so there's no need to reset it. As Jennifer said, just hit ENTER.

Booting to the XP CD:
If you're running the Recovery Console, then you need the default Administrator password for Windows at the C:\ when prompted to do so. If there is no password, hit Enter.
If you pressed Enter from the original screen to setup Windows, then select Repair, no password is needed.
Regardless, neither option has anything to do with a BIOS password.
