Because of some computer glitches, I reinstalled my XP operating system right around the time the big virus was gonig around (about 2 weeks ago). Since that time, I've noticed that I have not gotten any automatic updates from Microsoft. I used to get updates every 2-3 days. A little message box would pop up in the lower right- hand corner stating that "New updates have been downloaded and are ready to install". I went to the website & tried to manually download them & I get a message stating that my downloads are up to date. It just seems weird that I used to get them regularly & I have not gotten one for 2 weeks. Any comments??

go to control panel and under classic view look for your System icon and open it and click the automatic updates tab and make changes accordingly to your choice.
