i installed the file, and i still can't install microsoft updates through automatic updates, if i go to the site i can download internet explorer 7, (which was one of the updates)
any other ideas? thanks for the help

You say you can't install the updates. Does that mean they are downloaded to you computer? Are you running SP2? Have you enabled WGA?

WGA? and i believe it is sp2, on system info it says sp2, and it says the updates have already been downloaded, but it wont install any of them
