For tha last couple of days my automatic update which I have configured to download, however propmpt me for install ,has been stuck at 14%, can this have anything to do with my firewall or my Anti-Virus Suite Preventing it from moving forward with download ? I have the taskbar Icon (a yellow sheild with a Exclamation mark in the middle) and whenever I roll my cursor over it it reports Downloading Update:14% ? If anyone has any idea how I can kick start the update to contunue downloading the update,I would grealty appreciate your input !
Thank You ,Nick

Backout of the download and start over. I recommend manual downloads and use the custom option. Is your HDrive full?

Go here and find "DataStore.edb"
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb
right click on it and rename it to "DataStore.edb.OLD". Then restart your computer. Go back to Windows update and you should now be able to download the update OK...

Hi to All ,
Thank you for your replies ! OtheHill my H.D. is far from full it has 213G.B. available and I have a externial drive with 300G.B. available. I did set my automatic update back to manual and it took forever to scan for updates and then when two appeared I clicked to download and it just sat there for ever ? I tried disabling my Norotn Security Suite to no avail ? Iam going to try the suggestions of the other posters in this thread and see if I have any joy !
Thanks ,Take Care
Nick

I have Microsoft Update working ,I had to reinstall the software for it ,sadly I lost my update history in the proccess ,however I have the Bel-Arc Advisor which lit all of your updates and tells you if the verify as installed properly ! I installed the update for NET FrameWork KB110806 ,it was a 26 M.B.install. After the download it installed properly and all is well .
Thank You ,Nick
