Right click My Computer,
Properties,
Advanced tab,
Settings button (Startup and Recovery),
uncheck Automatically Restart.

Now you should get an error message when it happens again.

Maybe you are getting a momentary loss of power. Then when power returns, computer would start up on its own.

My computer would start up when I would plug the power cord into an outlet. I found that there is a setting in BIOS regarding start up after a power loss. I changed setting to NOT start up.

Sounds like Spyware and other types of Malware acting up.
You may want to do multiple scans, try safe mode 1st.
If it doesn't stay on long enough, you may have to do a repair install:

and then do the scans

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
