Hi
Is there any way for me to automatically transfer files from an SD card or similar to the PC when it is plugged in. I am asking because someone I know is going to America soon and they are a bit of a technofobe so it would be nice if they can just plug the card in and have it automatically dump the pictures onto the PC.

SD card isn't going to plug into any pc. You need a card reader. Consider just a usb stick. In xp you are presented with "what do you want to do" with a list of choices when you plug in a usb stick.

In my opinion this is not something that you would really want to do. You are creating a big security issue on your computer for any auto start application from a plug in device.
Granted that those cards are normally used for pictures and the lot and would not be normally be used for such things. It is just a matter of time that some one gives you a SD card to download from and it is infected then the auto start just dumps it in there and you are then too late to act.
