Autoexec.bat & Config.sys files not visible

April 27, 2010 at 20:34:24
Specs: Windows XP, 2.5GHz/3.25 GB
The autoexec.bat and config.sys files I write and save to diskette are not showing up when I explore (view) the contents of the diskette. The files are on the diskette because when I attempt to re-save the file to the diskette I get an alert that the file exists, do I want to overwrite. Question; How can I the files to show-up when I explore the diskette contents?

I don't know what you're trying to do with those files, but just rename the original autoexec.bat file to autoexec.old. Then create your new file & name it autoexec.bat. Do the same for config.sys.

Make sure you have "show all hidden files & folders" selected & "hide file extensions" unselected.

... open a folder window click "tools" (tab) then "folder options"

... then "View" (tab) check/tick "show hidden files and folders"

... uncheck "hide protected o/s files"

... uncheck "hide extensions" ... Apply !
