I have a Xitel Storm Platinum card which is Vortex-2 based. It works fine in XP (using the default drivers) with the exception of having no sound in the rear speakers. I've checked and rechecked everything but can't figure that one out. Any ideas?

I have an aureal vortex 2 chip card (mx 300) and it worked in xp for a while now it stops playing sound after bootup and don't workanymore for a while (its done this before!).

All your problems have solutions.
For sound cutting out (especially on Via chipset mobos) check out PCI Latency patch and WPCREDIT fix at: http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/
For XP Aureal control panel app: http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/chris.day/vortexcpl.html
For sound output on all channels, install Win2k drivers (not the MS drivers that came with XP) http://www.vortexofsound.com
