What is the best software to use to convert audio to MP3. It would be nice if I could find somthing for free to do the job. Thanks!

"Best" is subjective, and you're likely to get a lot of different answers. CDex is nice.

Yes, I'd agree with iamc, CDex does the job, is easy to use, free & lets you know if there are any jitter errors during conversion.

Another vote for CDex. It does a great job of ripping and converting files, and it also supports ID3 tags.
Works great, free, and open source, what more could you want? :)

Hi There
Another easy one is to use Windows Media Player v.10. Go to Tools - Options - Rip Music. Once there, go to the Rip Settings section and change the format to mp3. Everytime you save a cd onto your computer, it automatically saves it as an mp3.
