I'm a new Firefox user and for the last few weeks everything has been fine. All of a sudden I've started encountering problems when I listen to any online stream.

My web pages take a really long time to load and my audio either starts repeating phrases in short bursts over and over like a stuck record or the audio stream goes silent. Without audio playing everything is normal. I've never encountered anything like this before.

Any ideas?

Sounds like Spyware/ Malware to me. Try Adaware 2007 and Spybot Search & Destroy. Find them at the link below.
