have a slight problem here. onboard sound card in Emachines 570. i run AudioLab to copy LPs to CD. now on playback the sound is distorted. problem lies i think in WinXP. fault is here: Sound and Device Properties>Audio>Volume Control. under Microphone and PC Speaker the BALANCE bars are greyed out. evrything else OK. how do i correct this please? Plz bear in mind i only have a Restore CD on a store bought machine with WinXP pre-installed.Do i need to uninstall the device Avance AC97 Audio and reinstall it or not? or do i need a new driver? current driver dated 30/05/2002 version 5.10.0.3900? this is not a major problem as my speakers work fine all sounds and games sounds work fine. media player music is fine, but this balance control problem seems to affect the playback on my LP - CD program. i cant copy my vinyl to CD now. i have a screenshot with the problem shown if u need it!! i would appreciate some help with this.
