Comment:

When I use the Sound Recoder, a window comes up and says " another application is recording audio"

Similiarly, I enable voive in the Yahoo Messenger, It says "the computer's audio voice is already used by application"
I checked Window Task Manager and found no application use audio input.

How do I fixed it?

Thank you for your comments

Truc: Microsoft says that, by design, when you use Windows Media Player 7 or 7.1 to play an audio CD-ROM, you are unable to use Sound Recorder to record the music as you could with previous versions of Media Player.

also try the regular sound troubleshooter routines;

1. download the latest XP driver for your sound card.

2. ensure the service Windows Audio is Started and Automatic;
click Start, Run, type: services.msc

3. run the DirectX diagnostic;
click Start, Run, type: dxdiag
open the tab for Sound and run the tests,
then open the More Help tab.

and the XP onboard Help sound troubleshooter says it will help with this type of error.

let us know what worked for you...
